Email sent from my reseller hosting shows providers name in header

Hai folks, from : mysite.com support@mysite.com via rsx31.justhost.com to : sombody please tell me how to remove that rsx31.justhost.com from the header Last edited by kandyjet; 08-20-2011 at 10:50 AM.

That is common. This is one reason why I recommend anyone wanting to resell get a good VPS if you can't afford a dedicated server. If justhost.com was smart that would have a domain name that is anonymous for their reseller servers host name. For spam purposes they normally need the exact server host name the email was sent from.

Most reseller providers, especially ones who provide a white label service will use an unrelated/anonymous/privacy protected domain for their server hostnames. Justhost obviously haven't done that and there is nothing you can do, other than move to a provider who does offer a white label service.

btw, i just wrote this problem to just host few days ago. they replied "Please set your software to send emails using the SMTP authentication." .

I would contact your hosting provider and ask why they don't white label their reseller servers.

yes, whmcs has setuped to send mails using php mail

If you change it to SMTP (using an SMTP account) it wont be as obvious where the email is coming from unless the recipient decides to view the headers of the email.

i just got the hint from this email and changed the mail settings in whmcs to use SMTP mail insted of php and now rsx31.justhost.com has disappeared from the email header Thanks folks
