How do you restore a cpanel server with r1soft? I know need to restore /home but if I restore /etc /usr /var it will screw up stuff, ex. /etc/modules.conf and if I don't it will be missing stuff, like /etc/userdomains Anyone know the best way to restore from an r1soft backup?

Did you check at their support? http://www.r1soft.com/documentation.html

Yep, I didn't see anything specifically related to cpanel though.

The easiest method would be to attempt a bare metal restore, r1soft does not create control panel native backups such as cpanel format backups. So, if the bare metal restore is not an option you will need to use the r1soft CDP interface to selectively restore cpanel data such as /var/lib/mysql, /var/named, /var/cpanel etc...

I just restore /var/lib/mysql, do I need to pay for the extra r1soft mysql liscense?

a bare metal restore" your best bet.

The r1soft mysql module is a special module that allows you to restore mysql data line-by-line or table-by-table, it is not required and not having it will not impact the standard backups.
