A few questions about whm and cpanel

Posted by Alan - Vox, 03-15-2001, 03:13 PM
Im planning on using whm and cpanel3 in the near future and want to give out reseller packages. I would like to know what the resellers can and cant do.

It is customizable, so you can give them whatever privileges you want.

So far the list is as follows: Account Creation Add Domains Turn an account into a demo account Account Modification Edit DNS Entries Enabling/Disabling FrontPage Extensions Account Termination Delete Domains Bandwidth Limiting List Accounts Mail Trouble Shooter Enabling/Disabling SubDomains Password Modification Quota Modification Rearrange Accounts (used to free up disk space) Reset Shopping Cart Resync Ftp Passwords Restart Services View Account Bandwidth Usage Enabling/Disabling SSL Support View Account Statistics Account Suspension Account Upgrades In the past month 2-3 new features have been added, like the FTP Password Syncing (one of my requests). If you have a request I would send it to the cpanel team and they could look into adding it.

Are these all the things the resellers can do? i presume i can stop them restarting services etc?

Yes, each of those capabilities can be toggled on or off for your resellers, assuming your own WHM account provides you with the privilege of creating and editing resellers. Mark Vockler Aletia Hosting

In addition, you can limit the number of accounts they can setup based on plan type, or based on the total number fo accounts.
