hi ive setup a zencart shop and was doing a test buy to see if working ok and when got to last bit on check got message saying Email Error: SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host... now dont know what my smtp host is are how to find out if some one could help please thanks........ my hosting account is with godaddy if this helps

Well, more likely then not - ZenCart would have a facility within the administration section which would require you to setup "HOW" it is mean't to send e-mail's out (similar to alot of systems out there). What I would suggest is: 1. Create an e-mail account through GoDaddy - e.g. sales@yourdomain.com (or similar) 2. Get the account details - username / password / smtp details / pop details for the account you just created 3. In the ZenCart admin section, look for the e-mail / mail sending settings and set the outgoing mail server type to "SMTP", and enter the details (as requested) of the e-mail account you've just created into this section - and save your settings. Try and test the system again and see if it works.

Also ensure that telnet yourdomainname.com 25 works

I heard that godaddy filters outgoing mail, so that may be why it isn't working. They may be restricting it for security purposes or limiting the volume of mail. First make sure authentication is provided for smtp, and if it still doesn't work contact them to check the logs.
