You dont have to learn php or any other programming language. You firts need to find a good host reseller. I would suggest at first buy a very small acount to learn how to use it.

The most important thing to remember is that your success is primary based on how well your host preforms. You need to select a host that can promise excellent uptime, quick support to you and most importantly, can support your website in it's growth period. Because you are a reseller, your job isn't as important as the host. You do not need to continue to monitor and maintain the servers, to make sure they are updated and to repair problems. Therefore, it would be a wise choice to save as much money as you can that you make because when the day comes to make that transition from reseller to a dedicated server, you will need that money. And finally, good luck in your new venture. Hosting can be a very rewarding job if you are honest, dedicated and understanding.

Perfecthost... Focus on beating the bricks. Go out and find local business. When you do that, keep in mind what you enjoy. What type of people do you think would talk to you, listen to you, respond and purchase service from you? Example: Walk into a nice Mens Wear retailer and use the word "dude" and "bizz" and see how far you get. There is nothing wrong with "dude" it just does not work in that environment. So should you be nervous and try to be "proper"? I say NO WAY! Seek clients with "like interests" approach them with "dude" and they speak your language. Small young business should be your focus. This is your best start to building a base and maybe getting referrals.

okey thanks.. and the reason i used those words is that i did not have time to check if i spelled the real words correct so i wrote bizz insted of business etc i usely dont talk like that and other reason was that im not so good in english so i did not know how to write marketing man.. that sound just stupid so i wrote marketing dude lol... i know that it sound unprofessional but my main target is Norway and i speak norwegian very vell so i dont need to think about this language problem.. A one man reseller will need to be a jack of all trades unless you want to spend big money with outsourcing or waiting on your supplier to answer the most basic of questions. Here are some of the basic things to know for any person thinking about starting a reseller business. Marketing Sales Business planning Accounting Site design HTML The ability to trouble shoot domain names usually thru bind and nameservers Control panel of your choice Basic knowledge about perl, php, asp mysql, Frontpage, etc. You need to have a good understanding of all the programs and features in your reseller account.

Although mpalamar didn't mention this specifically ... I think a big factor of the success of any service (like webhosting) is execllent communication. If you cannot communicate effectively, then you can be the most competent Marketing, Sales, HTML, ___ (insert favorite programming lanaguage) person, but you always run into hurdles. I find that the hosts that get the most praise on WHT are those that excel in communication ... specifically proactive communication ("we expect downtime on ____ for ____ server. Although we will strive to minimize inconvieniences to your accounts, should you have any questions during this time, please email us at this special email address : ____@____.__) Small things like that go a long way. Just writing opinions based on my experience.
