Some questions about cpanel and reseller hosting

hello, reseller hosting providers usually gives cpanel. i need to learn something about cpanel and reseller packages: - will email accounts eat my disk space and bandwith? (cause my clients generally using their email accounts with 20Mb's of quota but 1~2 Mb's of web space.) - how to hide the reseller hosting provider company (dedicated ip's for name servers enough?) - email accounts in cpanel are real mailbox or not. (i don't want to notify my clients to change their account names from "accountname" to "accountname@domainname.com"). if not, which control panel or server type (may be rack) i must choose? (my old software, plesk control panel was useful.) thanks

Everything "eats" space and bandwidth. - how to hide the reseller hosting provider company (dedicated ip's for name servers enough?) A good Reseller company will make sure this is done for you. Use a reseller/server company. Not a host that sells retail and resller accounts (in my opinion) You need PTR's or reverse DNS. You need you own Name Servers. You always need to be honest with your clients. Give them good service and find a provider that you can brag about and be proud to resell for. - email accounts in cpanel are real mailbox or not. Answers as follows: Quota does not eat any space or bandwidth. Space is only considered used (i.e. counted against the quota) when you store the email on the server or if it is hasn't been downloaded. As most users typically download it locally, this isn't a problem. Bandwidth is used when you send /receive emails, though Cpanel don't track it well. But as a reseller it's to your benefit. Dedicated IP is not enough. In order to make it anonymous, you need to make sure that your host 1. Put you on a machine with an anonymous hostname (the most common giveaway) 2. Provide an anonymous domain for the reverse DNS. 3. The whois for that domain must be anonymous 4. The nameservers must also be anonymous. Some will use their company's name servers and an additional level of check will show the host. 5. Do not place any of their details/logo in Cpanel themes etc. 6. Make sure that the ips have not been sub-delegated to your host (some data centers do this) 7. A dedicated Ip is useful for you to provide your own nameservers and that may have to obscure it a bit, but isn't sufficient if the above isn't met. That as a start should make it anonymous. Ask your prospective reseller host to verify that they meet the above requirements. For emails, only the main account is "as-if" i.e. without the need to append @domainname.com to the username. Subsequently all emails created in that domain will need to have @domainname.com appended to the username. This is only logical. If you want to have just the username, I believe Ensim does that as well.
