Any advice on these hosts?

Posted by osckar, 08-23-2003, 10:49 PM
Hi: If you have any good/bad advice on these hosts I would really appreciate it. I've changed hosts many times this year because of long downtimes and poor support and I found these on the net, so If someone could make a review, or has been a satisfied/unsatisfied customer just put a reply. -PacificWebHost.com -InternetHosting.cc -Mesopia.com (former Terabite) -Hostzone.nu Also if someone could suggest me a host please tell me your experience. Thank you

Thanks for replying but why do you recommend those hosts? Have you had an experience with them or been a customer? for how long? Oscar

I think hostrocket has quite a number of negatif comments lately. If you want good hosts, try http://byzhosting.com I have been using them for roughly 2 years. They have excellent uptime and support. Another good host you should try is enhancedhost.com which is also has been around for a long time.

http://www.dathorn.com/ I am currently using them now, they have nice reseller hosting, very nice costs, average speed, very nice support, very fast at responding, very few problems, not much down-time, lot's of features and tools. http://www.liquidweb.com/ I was on liquidweb for about 3 - 4 months, they had excellent phone service, nice support, average speed, costs were average, lot's of features and tools, nice and organized company. http://www.hostrocket.com/ I was on HostRocket for about 1 month, they have nice speeds, a bit higher than the other hosts, and very nice costs, support is ok, i havn't really used their support, i didn't have any problems in that 1 month.

I've never heard of any of those web hosts. From personal experience I would recommend HTTPme, dathorn or crediblehost. Do a search on any of these 3 and you'll find plenty of reviews and opinions.

I also would highly recommend Httpme (www.httpme.com). I have been a customer for a few months now. Support is very responsive and helpfull. and when there is a small downtime, which are rare (like a recent PSU failure in one of the servers), they constantly keep you updated through their online .COMunity Httpme are the best I have ever used, and plan to stay with them for some time.

I would be one to leave negative comments about Hostrocket. I was with them for two years, but I'm about to move to another host. If their support guys will let me that is.

Just curious How can their support guys stop you from moving? Did you purchase your domain name, that you want to move to another host, from HostRocket?

Not sure if you've been having any problems with this, but as long as your account is paid in full you will never receive anything but help in moving to a new hosting provider from HostRocket. -Brendan

I ran across this host www.ocwebservices.com They have dedicated and reseller plans that were great. They use Ensim for a majority but offer a wide variety. What was appealing was the support for oscommerce and php driven sites. If requested could initiate server commands and for a reseller, I spent some money and got an automated hosting service. COOL. The website is modest but wow.
