Citadelhost YAY

Posted by Outofmymindy, 12-11-2003, 04:50 AM
Alright, I know the topic is goofy, but I had to let people know what has been going on with my account at Citadelhost. I recently bought the $9.99 package from them, wondering about the recent downtime and troubles they have been having. I decided to sign up because they were setting up new customers on non-EV1 servers. So far I've had a few support tickets, and they've been answered in an average of 10 minutes or less. One particular reply was about a 1.5 minute wait, which is completely fast to say the least. The last straw that made me post his, was that Jon did a re-compile of Apache just because I wanted a script for a dynamic signature to work that needed the GD Library installed. Needless to say, this is more than I would expect any host to do for me. So for those of you wondering if they've gotten everything straightened out, I'd say very quick servers, feature full packages, and support like nothing I've dealt with is the way to go.

Does anyone know when the server move will be complete? Is the plan to have everything moved by Monday? I'm gonna sign up for a new account with citadel, but I want to wait until the server move is finished.

Thanks for the kind words. Apologies, EV1 rebooted the switch we're on: http://forum.ev1servers.net/showthre...threadid=37966

i moved from ev1 to the new server @ the planet and the move went well. only had a few probs but most of those was my isp cache being slow to update, changing to a diff proxy showed site up and running. thanks jon

They are putting all new signups on the new servers. No EV1 servers will be used for new signups. Which is why I went ahead and signed up in the first place.

Actually, I already got transfered to theplanet already. On Dec. 6th to be precise. There was a wee mishap, but nothing a ticket to support couldn't fix.

I've never seen a $9.99 package on CH's site. Am I missing a deal? I'm paying $12.99/mo and think it's cheap.

Although I'm not speakin for Outofmymindy, I recieved a custom quoted package from Citadelhost for $9.99.

Custom reseller quotes were available for below $12.99 while we offered virtual hosting however the virtual line was discontinued.
