Alert All Netstartz Clients – I have An IDEA!

OK, A lot of us Netstartz “refugees” are browsing theses forums for an alternative hosts. I think there are enough of us to actually band together and form our own mini host. Tell me what you guys think. If enough of us band together, I think we may just be able to make something out of it S. Faruque

one question: who gets root access?

Perhaps if there's a number of you that have already decided to leave, then do some collective research for a new host and approach them for a "bulk order" discount of somekind, rather than thinking about starting a hosting business.

If it has a massive fallout like featureprice thing and nuclear explosions... call it "Holocaust Hosting" Otherwise, my serious opinion...No, it won't work. Too many conflicting opinions, different countries...only thing binding you is grief/losses...and time gets over it. But partnerships need much much more than empathy to work.

faruque, Maybe you could get everyone together and try and get a bulk signup discount from another host.

LOL Sick Sick Sick Sick!! Theoretically it sounds like a good idea. Practically I'm thinking I agree with nipl. Entering into a partnership in this way will be way too difficult. Personally, I've already chosen a new host. I'll ask to see if he's open to the idea of some sort of 'bulk sign-up discount'. Though I'm thinking he really doesn't need the additional business.

Or you could go with what you are thinking about doing but talk to a few of them on a more personal level. See what each has in mind, if they'd be dedicated enough, what their ideas are in regards to forming a successful commodity. Do extensive research and background information checking also. Put them to the test to see if they can handle it or not. That's what I would do.

There's a web hosting company that doesn't need or want additional business? Or is this just one guy who is doing hosting on the side? I agree with the idea of a bulk discount. I'm sure many hosts would be agreeable to that.

Simpli-Erica, I was just thinking about that... "not wanting additional business". I know we take as much business as we can get

You could divide everyone up with VPSs .

Posted by vaanie, 01-14-2004, 01:27 PM
well, must shared hosting clients have never even managed a severs... so that would generate even more downtime.

Posted by vaanie, 01-14-2004, 01:37 PM
