Account Management

Posted by anjam, 01-05-2004, 05:06 PM
What do i do to manage my accounts i get a few sign ups a week. I am currently on a reasonable reseller package and my customer account stuff is either in word documents or bits of paper. Whats the best way to sort this mess out?

a database. perhaps a nice clean mysql one. You can use phpmyadmin to administer it.

or get something like modernbill/whmap/clientexec.

Right whats the best and what do these kind of things do. Keep track of accounts, invoices etc? Whats available and which one is best value overall and which is best product if money was no object which sadly it is.

WHMAP has been great to us. Highly recommend them!

You may also want to look at an accounting package so that when it comes time to pay the tax man that you have all your accounts settled. I would recommend that you look into Quicken

I'm new at this but I have done extensive research and have determined there are several ways you can go about this: 1) The full package ModernBill + Kayake eSupport = 2) FREE PHPCoin.com or NiXT.org read more here 3) ClientExec is my favorite and I own two licenses because: 1) It handles everything I need, sign up, client management, and support tickets. 2) Priced competitively, I purchased 2 licenses for $99 during a sale. Even the "regular" price of $99 is well worth it. 3) Do a search here on WHT for ClientExec to read more Hope this helps Ross

I played around with phpcoin several months ago. Considering the price (free), its not too bad. In the end, I created an Access DB though.

yeah same here. before i purchased WHMAP, i was using a self created MS Access database. would recommend it for new hosts.

ClientExec - looks good who else has had an experience with it and what was it like. Would you reccomend it for a fairly large reseller moving on to my own servers soon?

This could be a dumb questions, but, what are you going to do with two licenses?

Posted by sightz, 01-06-2004, 07:22 PM
Maybe he was waiting to sell one to me

Posted by RossMAN, 01-06-2004, 07:40 PM
That's not a dumb question. I have two web hosting domains, one CE license per domain

Ahhh...Gotcha!! I've been educamated.

Right - so can anyone explain what clientexec could do for me and what the benefits of the programme are for a large reseller moving into own servers shortly!

Posted by anjam, 01-13-2004, 03:34 PM
clientexec - im thinking this, so does it have like support system built in and whats it like?

Posted by Dreamz, 01-13-2004, 04:09 PM
ModernBill - All the way! I believe every host here grows day by day. And the best of the best application we have found till date is ModernBill. To be very honest with you ModernBill provides merely everything a host will ever look for. Regards, Wasim

Yes it has built in support ticket system. You can test drive it by using the demo (which I posted earlier) username: admin@clientexec.com password admin Bang for your buck it's hard to beat the complete package which ClientExec offers. I would also recommend participating in their community forums.
