Maximum length of user name and password

I want to know what is the maximum length allowed for users and passwords in Windows 2008 server without Active Directory and how to override or increase the limit.

I think it could be 255 characters. If you look for the security policy settings, then you can change things like password length, incorrect login lockout etc..

I believe without AD its fixed at 20 characters. Just Google "windows 2008 username length" for a great deal of awesome information!
