is every OVH IP blacklisted?
Posted by Etian, 07-09-2016, 02:38 PM |
I should have checked the blacklists before installing cPanel on an OVH server, then seeing emails get rejected. I tried buying another one, then another in a different country, and they all show up on the blacklists.
Is there some trick to getting a clean IP from OVH?

My error. I just needed to set the reverse DNS.

Sometimes it's just how we learn. The reverse records do usually help as well as the spf, dkim.

So the IPs never actually showed up on blacklists? This statement contradicts the first.

I've had various problems with new OVH IPs that were correctly set up on my side. I think the problem was the speed at which OVH needs to gobble up new IP space - not necessarily previous OVH users.
Most top email providers were relatively easy to work with and get cleared but freaking AOL was a real bear. I routed all mail through a Linode IP I've had for years for a long time because of AOL.
I didn't have any big actual blacklist problems that I recall - mostly an "unknown status" type of crap from AOL.
