Hello, I am a new web host reseller, and I have a few questions, so far I have been using this for my own sites but now I actually want to start selling accounts. What all do I need to start software??? Or just a template and links, and payment options? Please help. Maggy

Welcome to WHT Maggy, I suggest getting a billing software such as Clientexec (http://clientexec.com) . Its not to expensive and it gets the job done. You also need a paypal account or a merchant account to except payments. btw This is just to get you started . I also recommend you browsing the Running a webhosting buisness forum.

Hi Maggy, If youre looking to start a reseller account - theres several things you need to consider. You need to create and manage plans - you need to be able to bill your customers (as you mentioned, you will want to use PayPal - so - will need a system that integrates with PayPal) - a helpdesk? - Would you like to also provide domains? I usually recommend people who are looking to get started in this industry take a look at all the available control panels and decide which one will work best for them. H-Sphere is a completed integrated system which manages all of the above tasks from a central location (billing, plans, helpdesk, domains, paypal, etc..). cPanel is probably the most popular control panel (at least on this board) - however, it requires various plugins to accomplish the some of the various functions you may or may not require. This can be a good thing, or it can be limiting. Its all based on what your certain preferences and requirements are. After you have played with some of the various control panels available and decided on which one will best suit your requirements - you will be in a better position to start looking for a provider. Hope this helps and best of luck with your project...

Paypal is a easy way to start out to accept payments, but as you grow you should look into another/more way to accept payments. http://whoiscart.net is another billing software with a domain resellers system bult in(requires you sign up for account in order to resell domains.) Hotscripts.com is good place to find other billing/support solutions that are free and low prices. Perhaps you could find a good template for your site here at WHT

Thank you I will definately look into all this. I do have the script dreamhost, and I do have paypal for now, probably will have to go with something else later on like you said. I will need a template I will look and see what you have here, everyone is so helpful here. Thank you! Maggy
