When I try to run my script I get this errorI tried incresing the max_execution_time but that didn't help.

Make sure, you have proper entries for the fcgid module in the Apache configuration file. For Eg: AddHandler fcgid-script .fcgi IPCCommTimeout 40 IPCConnectTimeout 10 DefaultMaxClassProcessCount 2 DefaultMinClassProcessCount 1 MaxProcessCount 100
