dedicated server problem

Posted by cenii, 07-11-2016, 12:01 PM
i have installed on my server Wordpress and now i have about 1k users online and when i want to add new post i get this error Error establishing a database connection This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host’s database server is down. Are you sure you have the correct username and password? Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname? Are you sure that the database server is running? server info 8x4GB Kingston 4GB DDR3 1Rx8 2GHz Intel Xeon-SandyBridge (E5-2650-OctoCore) Max Speed:1000 Mbps

If the site is loading, your database is running. You probably just need to update your user/pass in the config file.

no sometimes i get Error establishing a database connection

If the error is inconsistent, then you may be maxing out your database connections. You can see that with 'show processlist' while connected to mysql. You may need to raise the limit in the my.cnf file.

It's likely the DB is "to busy" at those times - try tweaking the config of MySQL etc and looking at your logs

how can i do this i have whm&cPanel installed

I believe they have a file manager so that you can edit /etc/my.cnf. Otherwise you will need to ssh into the server and edit that file with vi,pico or any other text editor.

your DB too busy, you have to optimize your server, what panel do you use? web server? batabase engine? server load? memory usage?

Is this server unmanaged? 1. Since you have cpanel; In WHM locate cpanel support. Send them a ticket about the issue. It may take a few hours, but they're pretty good at fixing things back to a working state, especially if the issue was created within cPanel 2. Get Support!!! If this server is unmanaged, either ask your provider if they also offer paid support, or look for a server management team or person that can take care of the server for you. not only will they be on-hand to fix such issues...they will go over your server to make sure it's running properly and secured. In terms of the database losing connection issue...your my.cnf needs to be adjusted, which it may not have been since you've had this server. It can be done through SSH and an editor. But before this can be done, you now need to have the system fixed so you can get the databases back online.

Unfortunately, you got yourself into a bit of a mess yesterday. Just wondering how things are today? Are your databases back online?

It seems that things are messed up...I hope you are having your database backup. Also, I'll recommend you to contact server management/support companies and optimize your MYSQL database.
