Looking for an e-mail provider with spam protection and web based access.

I am an Interland reseller. After a long relationship with them, we have decided to end our term with them and move all of our clients to a dedicated box that we own and manage at a different facility (DataPipe) The reasons we have decided to leave them are: 1. They used to have a dedicated support rep for each reseller account. Interland has eliminated that program. Resellers now have to call into the general tech support pool. Unfortunately, the general tech support pool for Interland is not very good and issues go unresolved many times. When items get escalated and resolved we have often times found that the resolutions were applied to the case simply to close the case not because the case was truly resolved. 2. Their stats system (Webtrends) does not work. This is not a complaint about Webtrends, but rather about Interland’s implementation. With all of our accounts, Webtrends acts erratically. Sometimes it will generate reports, sometimes it won’t. On top of this, their logging does not record the “cookies” entry which is important for particular features within Webtrends. As a result, the quality or the reports is low and when applied to some uses such as Search Engine Optimization can be somewhat problematic. The one problem we are struggling with (and here’s where my question comes in) is e-mail. While we are fully comfortable owning, managing and maintaining our own web servers, we do not want to do e-mail and would like to offset that to a third party organization. What we have done in the past is purchased Interland’s lowest level hosting package and just used the e-mail portion, but we won’t be able to do that if we move our account to our own server because Interland tacks on a “penalty fee” for “downgrading” accounts. Can anyone recommend a good cost effective e-mail provider that offers spam protection and web based access as well as the usually POP based access?

I haven't seen too many hosts offering just email. However, you can find an inexpensive hosting account and just put a placeholder web page on it. We have customers who do just that and use their hosting accounts just for the email features it provides.

That's what we have been doing so far. We'll just purchase the cheepest account and use the mail feature and jut let the hostig portion site there unused. However, if I can get 30 e-mail accounts and hosintg for 7.95 a month, I am trying to see how much I would need to pay for just the e-mail.

Our hosting sponsor offers a hosting plan with 40 emails and 200Mb of space for 9.95 a month. It's a gaming based hosting company, but there is no reason you could use it. Paid yearly, its about 8.33/month. They just upgraded servers and are suppose to turn on server side spam and virus protection. www.clanwebhosting.com Atomm Nihilo GamersRadio.com

Doesn't everyone who is a host (no matter what CP you use) have this feature? I'm sure that everyone has it. Everyone will be able to do your hosting only, if you choose. But here's the question. How much space/bandwidth are you looking at? I have seen email accounts that goes up to 700MB (gmail account). So, space does matter too. LOL. Have a great time, DalaiLama Hope you get yourself a good mail host.

Blazernetwork has email only plans.

I went to blazernetwork and got this: ""*.blazernetwork.com" is a site that uses a security certificate to encrypt data during transmission, but its certificate expired on 5/29/2005 12:56 PM." That doesn't make me too comfortable that a copy would let their mission critical certificate expire.
