Need help in creating shortlist of small and cheap resellers

Posted by NeoGen, 05-01-2006, 12:08 AM
Hi, I am looking for ultra small reseller plan, in the range of 500MB to 1GB space and 5Gb to 20Gb of BW per month. And the price less than $8 per month. Can you please help to identify such host(s) that provide good service and are decent ones. Thanks Last edited by NeoGen; 05-01-2006 at 12:18 AM.

You can make a search on WHT. There are alot of hosts.

I am part of WHT for a long time and I know the search function of WHT well Please note: I am not seeking a quote or requesting for hosting here!!!! I simply want help from other users to share names of such hosts...

I am using http://www.getmehosted.com/, maybe a tad too small for your likings, but worth adding to a small reseller list

Owned by SoftwareRevue, so you know they're a solid host!

Perfect in terms of space and BW... but too high on cost front...(for my requirement) Anyway thanks a lot... I dont offer hosting, but I have 40~50 odd site, that I want to host on different IP(esp C block)... thats why I have kept my budget low....

Wouldn't be enough a multi-domain host? probably you'll found it at a lower price than a reseller account.

Tried that in past, but its too cumbersome... also if you have to dispose /sell off a site.. its a big pain. Thats why am looking for cheap inexpensive reseller account

Can members please respect this? Three have now PMed Neogen and have had their PM ability restricted. Any complaints from any other members will see your account disabled. Do NOT contact members who aren't expecting it!

Well, using a quote you can get an idea that who is offering which package and you can add these hosts to your list if they qualify. Have fun on WHT .

Add Maxiehost to your list. I've been a customer for 2 months and support and uptime has been excellent. They have a new server in the GNAX datacenter in Atlanta and it is not overloaded unlike some of the big operators.

Seems that they dont provide reseller hosting, cant see their plans.... Do you have their reseller plan or what? blank page: maxiehost.com/us/reseller.htm

NeoGen - Yes, their website is not complete and doesn't look very professional, but their service and reliability is. They have a special offer on WHT: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showth...ight=maxiehost

Whoaaa... Space : 5,000 MB (5GB), Bandwidth : 50,000 MB a Month (50GB) for $4.99 pm... Its too risky.. honestly.... anyway thanks for your help..

I have two other reseller accounts, other than Maxiehost, so all my eggs are not in one basket. For two months the support and uptime has been excellent (I have my own monitor) and the server load at the moment is .84.

Yep. You need to watch out for those hosts. If it sounds too good to be true then it simply is... Good luck with your quest

try www.indigohosts.co.uk or www.gtechosting.com they are 2 hosts i know of, and offer budget costs. Indigo is linux based, Gtec is windows.

So far I am able to identify following hosts that might meet my requirements: Jonesolutions Linux Reseller Newbie - Only $3.99/Month 1GB Space 10GB Bandwidth Per Month Budgetreseller: 1000MB Space 20GB Bandwidth Host 20 Domains ~$5.35/m USD hostingdepartment.net 5GB DiskSpace 50GB Data Transfer $7.95 /mo (40% discount till 11-05) Duport Online Disk space 2000MB Bandwidth 30GB 1 Dedicated IP $4.95 per month I am some what comfortable with the earlier two i.e. jone and budget. Even there plan is also somewhat reasonable. But I dont know much about the later two, haven't seen much about them. I am at plan identification stage only. The evaluation will start later. Will keep posted on status of my research..

look on ebay plenty of reseller hosts on there and they have feedback :-p

Lots of Threads allready exist about the risks of buying off of eBay I'm sure some must be OK but, I've been bitten 3 times (SOSxd!) 1 by the'OneMan Server'(kept in the garage ?) 2 by So cheap it's got to be worth a 'play' (to be honest it was worth the experience, Play with Plesk & Helm for less than $15.00 a year), but I could not put any real customers on there servers) 3 x 'Seems a good deal & they have loads of +ve feedback (once they have your feedback they 'care a lot less'). Be Warned eBay feedback for hosting services is/can be missleading use the 'normal criteria' to judge the supplier. Goodluck Brian

can we have your list of such resellers ? Maybe can add 1 or 2 more here. but dunno if these resellers have been already mentioned or not.

Hi I'm going to (sort of) follow the advise of your 'tag line' Be Kind And Courteous To People On Your Way Up For You Might Meet Them On Your Way Down... Seriously I would rather others dropped names, having said that, I believe these 3 x threads have at least some connection with advertising on eBay: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=510993 http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showth...ht=meinhosting http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showth...t=ezhostingnet I would rather these businesses got there acts together, but if they don't or can't, then they should make way for those that can. Cheers Brian

Problem with the EBAY satisfaction ratings is generally the POSITIVE feedback is posted at setup, and that does NOT reflect genuine reliability in any way at all. (Yippie PAW we gots us a website!!! The reseller can type in the name given them into their WHM, assign a user/pass/package, put up a CUSTOM WELCOME PAGE , Send you an email with the WHM IP and user pass/ ftp logon so newbie can upload files prior to propagation with propagation info explanation link, webmonkey link and a dozen templates! 100% satisfaction report!WHOOPIE!!!YAHOO!!!) Now, for example icanahost.com over on EBAY is supposedly good (icanahost 99.4% positive) and has wonderful ratings, , I gave them a good rating on day 29 after purchase, but this year alone, but they LOST/DELETED my entire WHM one time, and when it finally reappeared strange, foreign language sites I knew nothing about were in my WHM, and some of my sites were LOST forever, AND then they wanted $10- each to try and RESORE the sites they lost, and I deleted the Arabic/Farsi sites myself because as far as they were concerned these sites were now in my WHM portfolio and my responsibility to pay for and see to it conformed to tos/aup!!!. Year before, they only had me wrongfully redirect my DNS and changed my logon/pass with no notice...Plus minimal downtime. ICANAHOST is a comparatively GOOD EBAY reseller hosting dealer...I mean they still use the same name and all...and did not disappear into a godaddy holderpage. Beware...Beware...Beware.... There are some good deals there on ebay, but do a WHOIS at the least and look at how long they have been registered. Also check their Ebay ID history. I think Ebay should let a second evaluation by the buyer/seller after six months or so. Now, good cheap web designers, banner and logo makers really are available on EBAY, and those satisfaction results are valid, MOST of these catagories are complete jobs in well under 2 weeks...some can do 5 page custom site overnight, complete with graphics. Better and cheaper than Elance, Rentacoder or Scriptlance.
