24hostingnow Opinions Needed and Looking for a NEW Host ... ME : Long Time Lurker NEW Poster This has surpassed rediculous with these people and they are down once again NOW 3/31/06 and have been all day . I have been with these people 24hostingnow for 10 months and it started out rather bad and has gotten worse and now to complete s**t . Every other day or so it's a half hour or hour here and a half hour or hour there ... DOWN ( I have sites monitored ) and at least twice now a month its a major downtime ( from a few hours to a day or so ) . I would like to hear from those who have been with them and LEFT and / or those who are trying to stick it out with em ... Am I wasting my time here with these people ??? Is it ever gonna get better or has there good times just gone ??? Seems to me they have grossly oversold themselves which is what the problem is . I am now seeking a new reseller hosting plan . I am rather sick of all the apologies / excuses from them , they seem to do this a LOT and to be up front and rather direct with it really would prefer THEM not jump in on this thread with another apology / excuse as they often do . Is there anybody left these days with real , continuous UPTIME ??? Last edited by moneymaker99; 04-01-2006 at 01:09 AM.

Yes, take a look at companies that are using h-sphere clustering, uptime will usually be good on those. If you need cPanel/WHM then you will need to do some research on each company in detail and perhaps request statistics. Edit: By the way, as you learned today, data centers are important. You are refering to the recent driver failure which we had on one of our servers yesterday. We have reloaded the OS on that server and we have contacted you in regards to this issue and like its normal with every other host who is utilizing the same hardware infrasture the domains on that server were down until we fully restore everything. If you are not satisfied with our service, please submit a cancellation request and i 'd be happy to review it and refund accordingly to make you feel better.

Send me those logs you have regarding uptime. Network uptime has been most of the time 100% during the last months except the recent network outage that we had last month because DEDICATEDNOW network was down due to UPS failure. Other than that there were some network maintenance which we contacted you about a possible connectivity issue. However there could be a systematic connectivity problem from your ISP to the server, send me trace resluts please next time you experience this issue. I may not be around in these forums so please email us all your problems with all the logs and trace results for investigation. Last edited by 24Hostingnow; 04-01-2006 at 05:40 AM.

24hostingnow really is pretty lousy. The only reason I haven't left them because I'm too busy to go searching around, setting things up, etc. You never know whether they're going to be down for an hour or a week. They make promises they don't keep, such as the promise that they would increasing my disc space on their server in compensation for the week-long outage of last year when they screwed up moving their servers. And now my email has been down ofr over an hour, as is their help desk. When will it be back up? Who knows? Also, I have to email them once a week or so to ensure that my mail to AOL and sometimes Verizon doesn't bounce back as spam. And James Clark isn't actually a man named James Clark, but someone masquerading as the previous owner, back when 24hostingnow was actually pretty good. Just glad to get this off my chest -- I'd rather be spending my time sending and responding to important emails.

Well I am sure that you can find a provider that can suit your needs just fine, regarding the uptime, service, and support. You might want to look at places like the offers section of WHT, or WHReviews to find honest reviews of providers that offer what your looking for. As said before, shouldn't be a problem finding a provider that can offer you the uptime you expect, and a price that is reasonable.

I am not holding my breath on the promise. I have been with them for over a year. Things did start out really good with them. I have also had pretty good luck with the tech support. They have been able to take care of my problems except for the downtime. My site has grown to where I cant afford the downtime anymore. The company really does seem to try but they should raise their costs and use the money to increase their resources.
