tuning apache recommendation

| Hello,I have the following server:
Intel Core i7 920
4 CPU Cores With HT @ 2.66GHZ
12 GB RAM
currently takes a while to load web sites based on wordpress..is installed wp-super cache..
file now is in /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf
is can optimize a bit more?, thanks for reply. greetings

| it seems you're using mpm prefork,
you'd better go with mpm workker.
also I recommend to use fcgid if it's not a shared hosting server,
it's faster and use lower resources

| Go with MPM Worker and configure it properly,
it improve performance about 30%
increasing the values won't speedup your websites and tune your servers.
also install memcache on the server via easyapache.
How to install MPM worker?
easily via easyapache,just uncheck mpm prefork and check mpm worker option on extended apache modules list.
as It's a webhosting server I'd recommend you to install cloudlinux to provide better quality and stability.
don't forget about tuning the mysql,it helps to decrease the server load and make it faster!

| If you are running cPanel or DirectAdmin there is a plugin that loads nginx for static pages and passes dynamic to Apache, it would probably help a lot. Here is the company that makes it http://portal.syslint.com/downloads.php
the plugin does cost money I don't know how much, but I don't think it is too much a month more.
I can attest to using just nginx in a static environment not shared and it is very Fast! But mpmworker would probably do you good as well. Also make sure your using some kind of Opcode cache for PHP like APC or Eaccelerator. You should be able to recompile Apache in Cpanel with Eaccelerator I was able to. Having an Opcode cache will increase performance quite a bit and reduce load.
