Apache configuratin for Ajax 1s Requests

Hello, I have one PennyAuction Website and Im getting some problems with apache configuration. The website is script in PHP, and Ajax update all content of website 1 by 1 second. The server all time is with SSL, thats why I turned on KeepAlive with MaxKeepAliveRequests 0. The problem is that when connecting to the website, the server ram increases but never decreases, until the server crashes. I tested with the prework MaxRequestsPerChild 1, and the server seemed to work correctly, but I believe to be unstable with many connections.
