Hi I have to enable Sendmail server on CentOS due to PHP email function, as I do have mail server on remote Windows Box. Since sendmail server not actually using for mail server activity but just for php email so I want to make it bit secure. For example I want limit number of email send ? Allow only internal user/domain to use sendmail How can I do that ?

If you only want Sendmail to relay for PHP scripts, set it to listen only on the loopback address (127.0.0.1).

Sounds like you need a mailer on your host, not necessarily Sendmail. Consider more modern alternatives to sendmail, such as postfix or qmail. They are normally easier to maintain configure and require less security updates per year.

Having worked with both Sendmail and qmail, qmail has steeper learning curve for the new user since it "does it own thing".
