Installing an SSL certificate on a domain without dedicated IP on Plesk server

| I have registered at startssl for a free SSL certificate and would like to use it for my e-mail and domain registration on a domain.
It seems however that installing an SSL certificate without a dedicated IP requires SNI (Server Name Indication).
Have people successfully installed an SSL certificate on a Plesk server before without a dedicated IP, but using SNI?

| But without dedicated IP your SSL can be installed as shared SSL but browser will gives error, so dedicated IP is necessary.

| You should go for a dedicated IP if you want to benefit from the SSL certificate.
Why do you need to install SSL on a shared account? Is it for testing/research?

| You need to pay your provider, for a Dedicated IP address. I have SSL working, on a cPanel Shared server, for one of my domains.

| The right answer is:
Plesk 10.2 is the first Control Panel that supports SNI, which allows you to use Shared SSL. You can do this via control panel, it took me 30 minutes to figure out I had to press the domain name to actually edit the right hosting settings that would give an option to select SSL certificate.
I have a free SSL certificate working perfectly fine on my server now. Unfortunately Plesk 10.2 does seem buggy, so I would recommend not to update to Plesk 10.2, unless you really really need SNI and do not might some lost Plesk-data and have a few hours to fix it.
Yes, it was for testing and for personal use. I will install a few SSL certificates for own domains. I also wanted to know if StartSSL truly delivered legit free SSL certificates.
StartSSL+SNI shows no warning for me in Firefox 4. The SSL certificate works perfectly fine.

I found your thread after getting a startssl cert last week and being unable to install it on a hosting account. Get this - the web host chat "support" dude could direct me to no no documentation whatsoever on how to set up even a normal cert, and after I pointed him to the SNI wikipedia page, what he felt able to do was to point me to their $15 ssl installation assistance offering, which of course requires a dedicated IP upgrade. I think I'll use this as a good opportunity to sell my in-house hosting services;
