Turbulent Media questions

Posted by GBerry, 04-20-2006, 03:08 PM
I found this site looking for a host. Been looking at numerous resellers here; very helpful. Turbulent Media looks good, but on their testimonials page, of the 4 testimonials they have, 2 have sites that are dead. And all the sites I can find affiliated with them are all on the same IP. Why would you keep the testimonials up of clients whose sites are dead? It doesn't look good to have this statement from a supposed happy customer, only to find that the customer must have gone under or gone elsewhere. The site looks good and the costs are good, but the above questions make me hestitant. What gives?

In their defense, keeping a website up to date is a daunting task. Things change a lot, especially online.

This is true so I would agree, busy companies however should have updates on a regular.

TurbulentMedia Has been excellent for me. I have a thread in this forums with my comments. Can't link to it as I don't have the mandatory 5 posts yet......

Good afternoon everyone, I hadn't seen this post until today, and it appears the OP never contacted our staff about these questions.. The Testimonials page hasn't been updated in quite some time, this is true. We have been focused on our clients, and haven't taken the time to update the page, in part due to the fact that we haven't had really any hits on that perticular page in quite some time, so it hasn't been a high priority. With all due respect to the OP, the clients that we have testimonials from have been very happy with our services. As for the two dead ones your speaking of (I believe you mean the two bottom ones on our page): The first was a college student who graduated, and cancelled services as he no longer had time to keep a page up.. The second is of a custom car group that disbanded this last winter due to issues they had with their members. If the clients had went elsewhere due to poor service, etc, they would have obviously still have a site located at their domains. We don't hold domain names hostage, as some do. Should you have any questions about our services, etc.. please feel free to contact either myself, or my staff. We're always available to our clients and others. PS.. Another reason why the testimonials haven't been updated, is that most clients don't write in to say "I just wanted to send you this so you could use it as a testimonial..." - We absolutely -never- tell clients to say nice things about our company, or bad. It is up to them to make that choice. We believe that is fair. With almost 2100 clients, we had all of 14 take our last "how are we doing?" type of survey.. It isn't always as easy as it seems to get clients to say anything about your service, until they post something on a forum like this when mad, instead of contacting the support staff.. Thank you, Last edited by TurbulentMedia; 05-03-2006 at 06:41 PM.

Well...we experienced the outage last night at around 7:30 pm...so it's not been down 24 hours yet....not sure what kind of problems you've experienced though in the last 2 days.

Well, yesterday and today. It's been over 24 hours for me, that I'm aware of. I get home around Noon, and it was down when I got home yesterday....... and of course it's still down now.
