updated - constant.com review

Few years back, I had posted a review on constant.com and I am going to update it based on my current experience as of now. I hope it helps someone. Ticket Response Time – I have to chase up my tickets with tech support once they are replied. Once they replied to your ticket, getting another reply or update will take a while. 2 times, I have to create another ticket to get an attention on another ticket. Network – Even though they mention level 3, I don’t see any level 3 on none of my server<-> users trace route. Let it be Asia, Europe or USA. It’s mostly telia. Also ping to European users have increased. Packet loss happens on random basis. Downtime – That has definitely increased in this year. I have seen more network issues then I have seen in combined last 6 years. Even their website went down for network issues. Affiliation/Referral - Some of their affiliated companies doesn’t ask for SSN and some will. Constant.com does. So if you have any referral money, consider you will not be getting any. Don’t put US rules in the picture because if they are then how you give referrals with SSN from other companies? Now a days with all this security issues happening around the globe, very less people are going to give their SSN to webhosting companies. Dealing with lost/stolen credit card is different but no one is willing to deal with Identity theft. Constant.com referral program is just for show. Free 10Gbps DDos Protection – Let’s just say it’s useless. Any NTP DDoS attack of 500Mbps will take your server down. Don’t fall in this free DDoS crap. It’s doesn’t do anything. Then they will try to sell you hardware firewalls. Below is not true which is shown on their website. It's just marketing gimmic. 100% Network Uptime Guarantee 15 minute Ticket Response 10Gbps or 2000K packets protection Affiliated companies – constant.com, choopa.com, gameservers.com, Vultr.com, reliableservers.com They are practically all same or affiliated companies with each another with same CEO/Founder. As of in 2016 their network and tech support both have gown downhill’s. Hope that helps. PS My past review here.

Wow, this is a very different picture from what you described in your past review and I'm sorry to see this bad experience by constant.com Why are you still with them if the service is so bad and there's so many problems? Have you considered moving to a different provider?

Thanks for the comprehensive review of constant.com. By the tone and substance of your review, does this mean you are migrating elsewhere?

Yes. I have started looking for new host around NY/NJ region. I was hoping for reliableservers.net but then I realized they use same Choopa for their network and such. So I am going to skip them. Feel free to recommend if you guys know someone who is good with network and support. I have 400$+ in referral with constant.com right now and I am not going to go give then my SSN. So pretty much it's a lost case. Every other host I had worked with would happily give you that credit in your account because they are getting good amount of business through referrals.

Sorry to hear about those issues hopefully it's maybe just some bad growing pains for them. I've seen a lot of people on here lately disappointed with the false advertising of Level3 in the network while it doesn't really seem to be used in the NJ location. Hopefully they can fix that! Also I agree about the SSN that shouldn't be requested at all it should be pretty simple to add that as a credit for future services vs a payout even. Best of luck in your new search!
