UK Hosting for US??

Posted by mrlogical, 03-09-2008, 06:08 PM
Does anyone have experience with the UNLIMITED package from heartinternet dot co dot uk? I wouldn't mind paying this price if everything were as they advertise. Is this too good to be true? What about being a reseller with a UK host if most (but not all) of my clients are in the US?

I know one .. stay away from unlimited resource (Space and bandwidth) advertised companies If your clients are in US then go with US servers

heart are quite solid, but they have increasingly been following the fasthosts model, which is not so good.

There is no such thing as unlimited. As kjawaid said if your clients are mostly US based go for a US host, Find some hosts that meet your needs and bang off some pre sales questions. You can tell a lot from the way hosts deal with these. Best of luck !

As all servers have a physical limit it's a bit hard get unlimited WHT Search throws up quite a few posts and WebHostingStuff has 25+ reviews. Hope this helps

http://www.heartinternet.co.uk/termshi.shtml In other words, you get about the 20th part of their server's computing power. That effectively limits your data transfer usage. I suggest you read the terms of service carefully, there are more clauses that will further define the service you get and how you can use your account.

5% of server resources is quite normal but, then again that depends if they have a 486 or quad core Isn't 5% per account. As this is a reseller account would you be allowed a higher percentage?

I don't know about that, given their pricing. After all, they need to make a profit too.
