Midphase Strikes again

Posted by tentmedia, 10-30-2008, 03:42 PM
Midphase Strikes again In Midphase's seeming never ending quest to drive me nuts (see previous), after I cancelled my account for the end of the current billing period (mid November), this has been my joy: Yesterday, DNS for my primary domain was changed to SEDO by MP Admin. Took 12 emails to get them to correct it. Today my admin panel is locked and the domains I'm still in the process of being moved are deactivated. I can't move them now. Now I have no website again, I have an irate client wanting to update their website and none of the domains still under that account are available. Nice. What's a guy to do? Thanks MidPhase for giving me yet another week of unnecessary stress yet again. You're unbelievable!

2 hours and counting waiting on this one now. So much for their less than 2 hours response time. That seems to be the exception for them, not the rule.

OK, you can join the growing ranks of MP staff that seem to not want to do anything with this. (half in jest) #23363888

From what I see here we sent you access to the domain registrar over 2 hours ago. would you like me to resend this information or am I misunderstanding what you need? -Dan

This is all being resolved now. I just received your email minutes ago and immediately moved it to the appropriate manager, just spoke with them and they are unparking your domains now. Once we get the issue resolved - I'll work on figuring out how it happened. __________________• WestHost.com - What was your host doing in 1998? Heeey, that's great Nick, can't wait for it to finally happen. We're pushing 24 hours the sites have been deactivated now.

Latest from MP:"I’m sorry to hear of your trouble. This happens when the domains are left pointed at our servers after cancellation, and I’m sorry for the trouble it caused you. Please let me know what domains are affected and the proper nameservers to set, and I will get it done immediately. If you are lacking anything else such as EPP codes or enom logins, please let me know and I will correct that as well." I'm beginning to wonder if anyone is listening yet. I was told by MP staff that I should fill out the cancellation form a couple weeks before renewal. In fact, the last time I went to cancel I was told it was too late as it was only a couple days before renewal. Not enough notice they said. Apparently it would have been huh? Just can't win with you guys can I?

MidPhase... You have mail.

Posted by snickn, 10-30-2008, 08:20 PM
Yep - Received and being addressed. Unfortunately the issue here is you were not informed that cancellations are effective immediately, and I'd say that is the case the majority of the time in hosting. If you ask for a cancellation, your account is canceled, it's not active until the end of your term. __________________• WestHost.com - What was your host doing in 1998? It's funny that a couple days wasn't enough notice last time I wanted to cancel then. I guess MP got to make a bit more money of that half truth?
