Hostgator reseller Hosting and Cpu use.

I'm considering Hostgator's reseller hosting, but I can't understand what happen if a single account uses too much cpu: Hostgator will close that single resold account or the whole reseller account? Is the same in other companies' reseller hosting?

The standard procedures for most hosting companies are usually the offending account is suspended and not the entire reseller hosting account is suspended.

I too like to agree. The usual procedure will be to suspend the account, which violates their ToS, not the entire reseller. But they'll let you know about this and would ask you to take necessary actions. Just ask them directly about this and I think they'll be happy to answer your questions.

they should not suspend complete reseller account, but should just suspend one certain account. But this can be conformed by Hostgator sales representative. Chat on their website to clear confusion,

I don't believe they would suspend the entire account but the best person to ask this question to is Hostgator Sales.

We will only suspend the domain causing the problem. If it's a script on that domain we will only disable the script rather then suspend the whole account. I hope that helps. =)

Do you have an account that you fear may use up quite a large amount of server's resources?

What makes you think they haven't looked around?

Back to the main topic by the original poster, I think it's now confirmed by HostGator, that they will only suspend the domain causing the problem, rather than suspend the whole account. This also answers my curiosity about this same issue as I'm using their reseller account too
