Mail rejected by gmaiil with new DirectAdmin installation

Hi there, I have just moved from a reseller direct admin package to a VPS with DirectAdmin/CentOS6 and Administrator level acces. During this process I exported my DirectAdmin users, and imported them in the new system. Furthermore I changed all IP's listed in the DNS control (seperate from DA). Where my email system was working fine with the reseller package, it is NOT on my VPS. Stuff like SPF are identical (minus the ip change) and the IP of the VPS is not blacklisted anywhere. Am I forgetting something at the administrator level? Full header@send Last edited by Magistar; 08-07-2014 at 10:00 AM.

It seems that your VPS IP address is blacklisted/blocked. Check the IP reputation from mxtoolbox.com. Also you should ask your service provider about outgoing spam from this IP address.

I checked that and it is not blacklisted anywhere. I did find some further information. Apperently my directadmin is sending from an ipv6 address and I have no PTR and AAAA records for that. Right now I am trying to figure out what that AAAA record should look like .

Make sure you have the proper ip set as main in your vps control panel and make sure it's the same in DA. Then, set your rDNS records in your vps control panel or get your provider to do so if you do not have access. In solusVM(if thats what your using), the rDNS settings are in the Network settings.

My vps is Xen based and I have no rDNS access. The only thing I can do is use the custom kernel and make a snapshot. However I registered my domain at another company. I have full control over the regular dns settings there. I can add AAAA an PTR records in the DNS control there. What is the difference with the rDNS? First time I am hearing of it, so apologies for my noobishnesh.

rDNS associates your server hostname with your IPs. If you don't have access, ask your vps provider to set it for you as this is at the IP level, not the domain level. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reverse_DNS_lookup
