hi i have a centos VPS and yesterday i installed maldet. so a daily cron was created, but somehow im not getting any email alerts even though i've already enabled email alerts and configured my email. When I manually send the report its working : >> For example SSH -> maldet --report 010715-1751.14227 adamc2014@gmail.com, in this case Im getting the report. But I would like to know why daily cron not sending me this report my 2nd issue is maldet scan location. report shows : malware detect scan report for xxx SCAN ID: 010715-1751.14227 TIME: Jan 7 17:52:26 -0800 PATH: /usr/local/apache/htdocs RANGE: 2 days TOTAL FILES: 664 TOTAL HITS: 0 TOTAL CLEANED: 0 =============================================== Linux Malware Detect v1.4.2 < proj@rfxn.com > Seems like maldet cron is scannign /usr/local/apache/htdocs whereas it should scan my /home directory. Any help? should i modify my /etc/daily.cron/maldet file? If so can anyone point me which is the correct coding? Thanks

Have you made edits to your maldet file already? Just glancing at the contents there is some if/then logic in there to determine if it has cPanel installed, and if so, do a wildcard search on in /home/?/public_html/

There's a big in the maldet 1.4.2 (At least we experience that issue) That the cron gets killed every night, so the report won't get sent out. If you use version 1.5: https://github.com/rfxn/linux-malware-detect then it should work fine

Thank you for that. I downloaded their latest sources which installed 1.4.2. I will try this version

Hi, Have you configured the maldet to send in notification and added the email in the maldet configuration file?
