EZPZ hosting

Posted by Eildor, 05-13-2011, 10:10 AM
I get the impression EZPZ hosting is quite popular with people on this forum. My question is; what DON'T EZPZ offer that other companies like HostGator and Site5 offer? Do they really take care of your customer support free of charge? I just tried the speed test and it was lower than 1Mpbs (I'm on a 30 Mbps connection) -- I'm guessing that's not normal, right?

Posted by TBradley, 05-13-2011, 11:46 AM
That depends how far away you are and what your ISP is limiting your download/upload to.

Posted by Eildor, 05-13-2011, 12:19 PM
I was testing the UK server (as I am in the UK). I tested Site5 and was getting near enough to 30Mbps (About 3.4MBps). I'm not getting anywhere near that with the EZPZ speed test, but maybe there's some other explanation for that.

Posted by Dan_EZPZ, 05-13-2011, 12:21 PM
Did the speedtest link begin with 91.204? If so I'll PM you with another link to try.

Posted by Eildor, 05-13-2011, 12:27 PM
I'm not sure what it started with I found the link on one of the threads here, I think it might have been the one about EZPZ discounts. I downloaded the file several times and each time was quite slow. I'm quite sure it was the UK speed test though. I'll see if I can find it.

Posted by Eildor, 05-13-2011, 12:55 PM
It's this link here. Just tested it and didn't get over 1MB. Tested it straight after and got about 3MB which is much better

Posted by HostXNow_Chris, 05-13-2011, 03:50 PM
You should get good connection from 100Mbps with all UK providers.

Posted by JESSEJJ89, 05-14-2011, 05:45 AM
What good discussion, I'm going to start checking my host provider's speed to see if I'm getting what's advertised

Question for anyone from EZPZ -- and it might be a stupid question. I can see that your reseller packages come with cPanel, does that also include cPanel for others under your reseller account? Also, suppose I wanted the Enterprise package, is it possible to have the bandwidth upgraded to 500gb? Thank you

Posted by Dan_EZPZ, 05-15-2011, 02:21 PM
It does indeed include cPanel for your customers too. If you purchased the Enterprise package with the coupon code you would be upgraded to 500GB - if not please submit a ticket and we'll look at your account. Thanks

Posted by Eildor, 05-15-2011, 02:36 PM
Thanks Dan

Posted by TDWadmin, 05-15-2011, 03:09 PM
Do you allow adult sites to be hosted through your reseller accounts?

Posted by Eildor, 05-19-2011, 04:26 AM
I'm still getting low speeds on your speed test. It's definitely not my internet connection. Am I downloading the right file?

Posted by Dennis H, 05-19-2011, 04:59 AM
I live in Sweden, hosted with EZPZ many times for a period of time. Never experienced any speed issues except for a server related problem once. EZPZ DON'T offer the same amount of resources, I think that is the only thing. But hey, you get what you pay for.

Posted by justjohn, 05-19-2011, 09:59 AM
Could you clarify?

Posted by CyberHostPro, 05-19-2011, 05:38 PM
He/She is saying you get what you pay for in reference to resources, ie EZPZ selling you realistic disk space for what you pay for where some hosts may offer you silly amounts of disk space that may not be available.

Posted by Dennis H, 05-20-2011, 02:16 AM
Exactly, I would go with EZPZ no matter what because I know they are honest and reliable.

Posted by justjohn, 05-20-2011, 04:24 AM
Thanks for explaining, EZPZ package looked excellent value for the money, thought I had missed something.

Posted by XTremo, 05-20-2011, 06:17 AM
You won't go wrong with EZPZ!

Posted by Pacesetter007, 05-20-2011, 07:03 AM
at least with me, I can and will absolutely throw my weight behind them. I've been with them for around 2months now and they've been just what I needed. Sincerely, they listen to their customers and I'm glad. It's what you pay for really. Thumb up for Dan and his team members! Tim

Posted by IsolatedHosting, 05-25-2011, 12:52 AM
EZPZ u cant go wrong with then just look at the reviews

Posted by badr, 05-25-2011, 02:50 AM
I've been with them for 6 months now and I'm not 100% sold yet... The server i'm on has had all the problems possible from failing HD, corrupted dns, repeated database problems due to full /tmp disk etc... Right now, I'm honestly starting to doubt said reviews... I can't recall this much Murphy's law in 10 years of reseller hosting.

Posted by iHubNet-Matt, 05-25-2011, 03:14 AM
I think it is better to be in touch with Dan regarding your issues if you have not done that yet.

Posted by badr, 05-25-2011, 03:32 AM
I've done so already... just awaiting his reply!

Posted by iHubNet-Matt, 05-25-2011, 03:33 AM
Okay, I hope that would give you a permanent solution for your issues. Best of luck.

Posted by Eildor, 05-25-2011, 05:13 AM
They give you quite a lot for the price, especially after the discount. I'm torn between Site5 and EZPZ... I think I may have to give EZPZ a go, just have to get my website design sorted first! Hope the discount of 25% + upgrade will still be going for a while!

yes i do plan to move my account from ezpz resellerr im on US6 server and this is alraedy frustrating for me i dont want to talk much more, you just see your self their servic,e i feel weird why a lot people telling ezpz was good excellent you can see their uptime on server 6 here https://clients.ezpzhosting.co.uk/server-status/ that wrote in month may UPTIME, and you dont know how much down time i faced on april and you may want to see total ticket that i have send to their suport regarding downtime issue, its really2 anoying for me everyday i cannot create order from mycustomer because cannot access to own whmcs and this happen everyday, and also for note ezpz r1soft backup was also make my site loading very slow and sometime its make my site down as well and i must face it every day eachtime the r1soft run the routine backup, i wrote here because i think the suport guys not helping me much so i shoot here, the issue was still appears untill today ---- note if one of you have specification as the same as ezpz package business and also offer master reseller privilage you can PM me as well. i already contact several reseller too on wht Last edited by webresult; 05-26-2011 at 03:48 AM.

Posted by Eildor, 05-26-2011, 04:27 AM
What have you been told by support? I'd guess that it is something out of their control, DDoS attack perhaps?

Posted by Dan_EZPZ, 05-26-2011, 04:54 AM
The issues on US6 at the start of this month was due to data corruption after an fsck, full information can be found on the network issues section. We do have some performance problems briefly early in the morning when the R1Soft backup runs which are actively being looked into. If you're unhappy with the server we can always move you across to another without any downtime or nameserver changes.

Posted by Eildor, 06-01-2011, 06:30 PM
For those who might be wondering... I went with EZPZ in the end I've been sending Dan like 10 tickets a day and he has been very helpful, I don't think he ever sleeps o.O I'll probably post up a review in a month or two.

Posted by irdeto, 06-01-2011, 11:49 PM
I don't know guys, Im not entirely sold on ezpz. I moved over also. And im on US6. I've had nothing but problems day after day. I cannot fault the terrific customer service. But US6 has become a joke. There has been daily outtages of some sort every few days and my customers are starting to complain to me. I have sent tickets in, although they are getting answered, no long term solution is being promised. its getting very frustrating.

Posted by iHubNet-Matt, 06-02-2011, 12:01 AM
Thanks for the update. I hope Dan would work hard to keep your faith in him in future also. Waiting for your follow up after a month or two.

Posted by ExonHost, 06-02-2011, 12:19 AM
I've plan on us6 server. I requested few days ago to move my account on another server but they told me issue has been fixed. But every day server goes down. Today I updated my ticket and Now I am waiting to hear from Dan.

Posted by JLHC, 06-02-2011, 02:05 AM
Did they let you both know the cause of the constant outages? It seem weird to have the server goes down "every day" unless it is either overloaded or it is having hardware issues.

Posted by ExonHost, 06-02-2011, 02:13 AM
This is not overload issue. I can access cpanel and whm when site goes down and did not see server load more than 6. I am getting blank page when I browse my site.

Posted by JLHC, 06-02-2011, 02:17 AM
Thank you for the clarification. Did they let you know the reason for the outage? Is it related to MySQL or the web server?

Posted by ExonHost, 06-02-2011, 02:31 AM
Few days ago Dan replied on this topic you can see there. And To night server was down for 40 mins. Then I update my ticket and got reply from Jim. But it is showing their server status page.

Posted by irdeto, 06-02-2011, 02:36 AM
I've had very similar responses from the ezpz team with no clear resolution. I have been told that the server shut down tonight because it may be overheating. I was told on another occasion that they are transferring customers from other hosting sites and it is causing a performance issue. There just doesn't seem to be any proper resolution and it is starting to piss off my customers.

Posted by JLHC, 06-02-2011, 02:41 AM
That seem to be a one off issue so it doesn't seem to be related to the current issue at hand. Well if you can access cPanel it means that the server is not down, maybe just HTTP being down for reasons only known to them.

Posted by irdeto, 06-02-2011, 02:55 AM
JLHC - I should clarify whqat cheaphost is saying... Even though cPanel and WHM are somewhat up - this isn't true. The page almost never loads during these outtages... and when it does load it loads half way forcing you to refresh... This can be like this for an hour at a time.

Posted by ExonHost, 06-02-2011, 02:58 AM
I know the server was not down. But clients count it as a server down. They do not check cpanel they only check their site.

Posted by irdeto, 06-02-2011, 03:46 AM
totally agree with you socheaphost. This is the problem. The customers are not interested whether or not the server is technially down or not. If they can't access their website, their emails or function - this is most definitely down time. I know Dan and the team there are fantastic. They are probably not to blame for the issues happening. But I would just love to know what is the final resolution and what steps they will take to ensure uptime is kept as per their guarantee.

Posted by JLHC, 06-02-2011, 06:53 AM
Well this sounds like overloading to me. It may be caused by R1Soft backups running alongside with server abusers which put stress on the server and causes slowdown and overload. I do agree that clients do not care whether their server is up or not if their website is down. Does other services like emails and FTP work during the "downtime"?

Posted by ExonHost, 06-02-2011, 07:08 AM
I did not check email and ftp service. And most of the client use google apps for email service. Also most of the site using wordpress cms and they update their site from Dashboard.

Posted by JLHC, 06-02-2011, 08:09 AM
Well WordPress's Admin page is also relying on the web server like any other web pages so we cannot identify the real cause here. You may want t request your ticket to be escalated to someone higher up who can explain the cause of the downtimes as I am sure Daniel will look into your issue himself.

Host Gator does not offer servers in UK/Europe! If you or most of your users are in Europe, you can experience a big difference even in the time it takes Outlook to send out an email when using server located in Europe rather than ones located oversees. The ones located in Europe will be generally perceived as faster connections due to physical laws: the time required by an electrical impulse to reach a place oversee and come back is still longer than the time it takes to reach a place located near you. It's matter of ms but multiplied by the thousands of bytes going up and down affects the speed perceived by final user. Try "ping expzhosting.co.uk" vs "ping hostgator.com" and you will read the difference. Beside physical locations, I think EZPZ is a smaller company that could follow you better with technical support than a bigger company, at least as long as it remains small.

Hi all, Apologies if I am hijacking this thread, but as my qury relates EZPZ I hope you won't mind. I am thinking of joining EZPZ, but I have seen a number of reviews regarding poor ticket response times. As I am planning to sell on quality this could be an issue, I would welcome other opinions as you are the people in the know Thanks Col

Posted by XTremo, 08-16-2011, 03:25 PM
Not in my experience Col......I've had accounts with EZPZ on three seperate occasions and they've always been very prompt.

Posted by tosh124, 08-16-2011, 03:28 PM
Thanks for your reply, much appreciated. TBH I'm hoping it was just a blip as the bulk of the reviews do seem to be predominantly good..

Posted by itsmir, 08-16-2011, 03:32 PM
I've an EZPZ plan at the moment and can say that their ticket response times are excellent.

Posted by tosh124, 08-16-2011, 03:41 PM
Hello; Thanks for your comment. How long have you had the plan and have you had any major (more than 4 hours) outages? cheers

Posted by itsmir, 08-16-2011, 03:52 PM
I've only had the plan since May and have had 100% uptime. Server is nice and fast - I'm on a UK server. You can see server stats here https://clients.ezpzhosting.co.uk/server-status/

Posted by WebMaister, 08-18-2011, 10:15 AM
Since I was thinking joining EZPZ too, could you plz provide links to those posts/reviews about poor ticket response times? How many of them, just one or more? Did you see them on here WHT, cause when I search with Advanced search I find theread/posts on EZPZ, but not bad review about their response time.

Posted by tosh124, 08-18-2011, 10:59 AM
I would love to, but I have been on that many different sites over the last few days I don't recall what I have seen where! Although a thread on here by Target did highlight the variability of their responses...

Posted by Dan_EZPZ, 08-18-2011, 11:02 AM
It largely depends which department they're sent to. Support is 24/7, account restores are handled in order they're received in, sales and billing are 9-5 weekdays only. Generally support tickets are responded to within 10 minutes.

Posted by tosh124, 08-18-2011, 11:14 AM
Dan, a slightly off topic query, which version of MaxMind is part of the package? thanks Colin

Posted by Dan_EZPZ, 08-18-2011, 12:15 PM
Hi Colin, It's MaxMind minFraud Dan

Posted by target, 08-18-2011, 02:18 PM
Indeed i did, it's something that could improve. Servers, support and service are great but response times could be more stable. It's the only thing i can think of they could improve in. Must say that in my last 3 ticket things improved and all response times were within 70 minutes. I can understand that Sales and Billing tickets are not so important and response times can be slower.

Posted by tosh124, 08-18-2011, 02:50 PM
Out of curiosity, how many tickets do raise and what kind of topics are they about? At the moment I average 2 per month, but they go in flurries as the servers slow down dramatically..

Posted by target, 08-18-2011, 03:19 PM
Depends on how things run Last 4 months 3 tickets.
