EZPZ Hosting - Doubts..

Posted by SkilledSquad, 07-24-2011, 02:58 AM
Hi guys, I have been lookin around to switch from a sub-reseller acc through a local firm here in India to a Reseller plan through Sites such as Hostgator /ezpzhosting, etc.. After doing a lot of research on WHT, I narrowed down to going with EZPZHOSTING.. I found Dan's email given out by himself on one of the posts around here.. So i emailed him 2.00 am India ST.. haven't heard from him till now.. almost 12 hours, no reply.. Anyhow, I next went to 'Contact Us' form on Ezpzhosting's site.. I got a auto-generated ticket instantly, though am still waiting to get clarifications on the questions I had before buying the reseller plan from them.. MY MAIN QUESTION, though everyone here seems to speak very highly of ezpzhosting.. Are they really normally this slow with replying to Issues and Inquiries? After reading around a lot, Ezpz seems the best choice amongst all hostings for my needs.. However, I feel a lil doubtful regarding how prompt they are with replying.. as the first interaction is still awaiting a reply.. and I only requested some basic answers before purchasing the pro or enterprise reseller from them.. Dan, if u read this, pls get back to me.. I am pretty sure I wanna go ahead with ezpzhosting.. but the past 12 hours have kept me worried.. Any suggestions, new signup member on WHT.. Thanks in advance guys.. Regards, Sagar

It was the weekend when you sent them an email. They might have less staff during the weekend which means longer wait times for a reply.

Hello,

Dude, today is Sunday. Don't expect a response from weekends unless they have spare time on hand. Besides, one working day response from the sales department isn't bad at all. Sales and support department are totally different. Wait till Tuesday before having any doubts. Don't forget they are based in UK. Adjust the timezone accordingly as well.

Well how is the response time now ? Kind Regards

I would recommend to email sales during business hours. This is not a one-man show so you shouldn't expect Dan to be there 24/7 and reply to sales tickets during week ends. Also do not forget the time zone difference you might have emailed him while it was sleeping time in the US.

12-16hrs for Sales questions on weekends is ok, IMO. Obviously the quicker the better though.

Dan from ezpzhosting just got back with all the replies to my queries hmm, so it seems that support is given higher preference than sales.. but thats quite justified.. I forgot to update a mail from the sales department mentioning they follow support as priority.. they mentioned that they will get back to me once someone from the team finds time.. my bad.. so apart from replying to the questions i had, they also are gonna help me migrate all my sites from the previous server to the new server.. including emails etc.. etc.. Dan, if you come across this thread.. I would like to apologize for acting impatient.. I have had a very horrible week with my current reseller setup.. Lookin forward to be dealing with ezpzhosting for a long time to come.. & thanks everyone for your responses.. as a new user, it feels good to be a part of WHT.. Regards, Sagar

Thanks for the update. I'm sure EZPZ will look after you. And yes, there's a lot of good advice, etc at WHT. Enjoy your stay.

From what i remember sales tickets etc.. get that message saying during weekends replies are slower. But support tickets are replied to within an hour or less. EzPz hosting one of the best UK hosts ive been with.

As others have told you, sales tickets on a weekend will not be an immediate priority. And that department is nothing to do with support or speed of support response. As far as EZPZ are concerned, you've chosen a good provider....so relax.

Most if not all businesses here in the UK have Mon-Fri sales departments...

I had a reseller with EzPz a while back and everything was fine. They are one of the best hosting companies i`ve ever used.

I see Dan has replyed to your thread i hope all goes very well. Do remember you are in a diffrent timezone from them and you submitted the email or ticket on a sunday witch is a day of the week end. Most companies have staff off on weekends spending time with family members.

I am a client of EZPZ for almost a year now. Altough it was at one time a bumpy ride with some problems hosting a Magento site on my account, Dan always was very helpfull trying to find a solution for the problem. After that there were no problems at all anymore and i am very satisfied. The server is running very smoothtly now. In my opinion Dan is a great person, without any doubts i don't think you can go wrong with EZPZhosting. If they could improve one thing is their response times on tickets to make them a 10/10 company. Sometimes it goes very fast, sometimes it takes several hours.

EZPZ is very good. But since you are from India, i would like to point out that if you get most visitors from India, than hostgator.in's India based server will be very fast for you. Otherwise your current choice is good.

I asked them a pre-sales question on Friday at 17:30 Europe time. After not receiveing a response duirng the week end, I complained on Monday at 18:37 and finally I got an answer on the same day at 20:36. US based companies (and probably also Indian ones) are generally better in pre-sales, chat is usually on even at night time and they are always fast in replying. Something that should trigger more allarms rather than feeling safe. How can they sell for a ridicolous price and pay sales force overnight and during the week end?! In other words: how can Madoff give me 15% of money interest rate when everybody else struggle to give me 2%?! Based on previous experience, very quick pre-sales replies, translated later on in faked tech support. What's the faked tech support? Well it's a support that's still very quick in reply but the type of answer you get is: Probably a big lie!!! It's just an Indian guy paid 1$ per day that was tought to reply like this (or similar) all day on. In the meantime the web hoster owner wakes up, he has his cup of coffee, he takes is time reading the daily newspaper, and finally he finds out the server is down. So he goes and fixes it (if he knows how to do it) and you get your server up and running after a 28 hours downtime! Well sick and tired of this crap! In conclusion I don't know if EZPZ hosting are good, but: I know their server status since 1 YEARand I don't read bad reviews here on WHT and I'm learning lately that these points makes me feel much more secure rather than getting a 15 minutes pre-sales reply that is just full of nonsense as the Madoff's interests rate.

I'm not really sure what's going on with that last post but it's quite common for sales to be closed during the weekend/evenings, support is obviously covered 24/7 with responses in a few minutes.

I don't understand the post either

For a weekend, sales and support issues are not generally concerned. A weekend means a off and a normal guy usually doesn't spends time on signing up for new plan. So better, wait till 24 Hours at least.
